Insulfix are proud to be one of the early adopters of the new service from the BSI called ‘BSI
Identify’.
BSI Identify gives manufacturers the ability to put key information about their products in a
place where it will always be accessible to everyone involved in creating a new asset. The
persistence of the data is absolutely key here. This means that product information will
always resolve - today, tomorrow, to the lifetime of the building and beyond. Customers will
never get the dreaded 'Error 404' where a link breaks when searching for product
information.
So, whether you are a specifier at the start of a construction project finding out key
information as you build a specification, a distributor wanting to confirm information about
the stock you are holding, a contractor checking that what you are actually using is correct
for the job in hand, or a facilities manager checking up maintenance requirements on
products in the asset you are managing, the information will be there, every time you check.
The permanence of the data is achieved through a unique digital identifier, called a
Universal Persistent Identification Number (UPIN). It is not just accessible through websites,
it can also be incorporated into technologies such as NFC, RFID (very fancy and not too
common in construction but will increase in use) and the more familiar QR code. Indeed, if

We are new on the construction scene with a product that we believe can truly give you a
better way to fit insulation between rafters. We want to do all we can to ensure our
customers have all the information about our Insulfix range at their fingertips, all the time.

As we expand our range of Insulfix products to cover more rafter sizes we will create new
BSI UPINs to make sure that you will always know what you have and how it should be used.
Insulation boards fitted by Insulfix Track customers are locked firmly into place and are not
going anywhere. It seems very fitting that, now we are part of BSI Identify, the same can
also be said of our product information.
